E5
I played down in the City, my Friday night gallery show.
My buddy said, “Let’s go walking.” I really should have said no.
A E5
There was music in every alley, a 5-star motor parade.

People talking louder and louder. Cops getting ready for a raid.
A E5
I had a feeling it might be time for me to peel.

And get out of this land of stone and steel.
(3x) Stone and Steel.
My friend put his arm around a Japanese girl. I turned around and they were gone.
A Knight and Bishop sat in their chairs. I started feeling like a pawn.
A Hummer limo stopped at YJ’s, the King and Queen stepped out.
There were bulges and watchful eyes. What’s all this about?
Another angel gave me a sip and said, “How does it feel?
It’s your passport to this land of stone and steel.”
(3x) Stone and Steel.
Rain hit my face and I jerked awake behind that Japanese girl.
I was holding tight on a mini bike with her gang from the underworld.
But Hell’s Angels don’t shop at thrift stores or glue trinkets to their seats.
No, this gang was having too much fun as we roared on down the street.
We were going too fast for me to jump, so I just dug in my heels.
And prayed I’d survive this land of stone and steel.
(3x) Stone and Steel.
We all piled into a cellar. It must have been quarter to 4:00.
The guy at our earlier show greeted me, opened the stage door.
My friend’s on stage with a vintage Les Paul, the King was in the front row.
They gave me a Mossman and a shot of whiskey and sat down for a private show.
The Queen dropped a Ben Franklin in the tips, gave a little squeal.
Said, “Sing us something about the land of stone and steel.
(3x) Stone and Steel.
